Lake Redman  //   Thursday - March 30, 2006

Well, I ws going to write tales of warm weather and fine trails, but this seems more pressing. There's a really sweet set of trails in York, Pa surrounding Lake Redman. The local MTB group YAMBO does a great job building and maintaining them, but apparently there's been some recent logging tearing things up. YAMBO is meeting with York County Water, owners of the property to discuss this problem. If you are in the area, I suggest going to the meeting, the more people who show up, the better. Here's the email I received:

Hello All,

Here's the details for the upcoming meeting with Duane Close of the
York Water Company to address the issues of logging and trail damage at
the
Lakes (PLEASE plan to Attend):

Wednesday April 12th, 6:30P.M. at Nixon County Park located in Jacobus

I strongly urge ALL YAMBA members to attend this meeting. If you
already have plans that evening, please consider changing them in
order to attend this meeting. If you just cannot get out of your
prior commitment, then ask a friend or riding buddy to attend the
meeting in your place. I cannot stress to all of you how important
it is to be at this meeting. I would like to see the Nature Center
at Nixon Park "filled to the brim" with YAMBA members on 4/12/06.
Please email me at Skipxcmtbr@hotmail.com if you are
definitely able to attend.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at the meeting!

Yours in the Preservation of the York County Parks,

Skip
