Ride Recap  //   Monday - May 16, 2005

Day: Wednesday
Location: Avalon
Surface: Dirt
Details: Another Wednesday scorcher. Summer time style weather, a six pack of fast riders and bone dry trail conditions. Did my imitation of a lawn dart midway through the ride. Peeled off some skin, reinjured the ribs (at this rate they will never heal!) and peeled part of the front tire off the rim. No other bike damage and we continued on. Lots of fun, maybe the fastest Wednesday yet, even with a stop to fix Mike's flat.

Day: Friday
Location: Rockburn
Surface: Dirt
Details: A quick easy one to let Mrs. riderx give a first go at the clipless pedals. Quick, tight and twisty trails, great weather once again.

Day: Saturday
Location: Patapsco, the whole shooting match
Surface: Dirt with a few asphalt connectors thrown in
Details: First shot this year at the infamous Tour de Patapsco. A 50 mile epic stretching from Avalon to McKeldin and back. A ride to test man and machine. Approximately 85% dirt, maybe more, one day I'll GPS it or do some other official calculation. Three riders, three single speeds, zero flats, zero mechanicals. Photos below.

Day: Sunday
Location: Avalon
Surface: Tarmac
Details: Light and easy fixed gear recovery ride. Good to see the park from this perspective once in a while. When you ride the road through here it's mostly by the river. Great views.
