National Trails Day  //   Thursday - June 2, 2005

National Trails Day is Saturday. For the locals, there is a big push to get as many people out Saturday to complete the final section of the 7+ mile trail linking Schaeffer Farms and Black Hill. This started as an IMBA project and is almost complete. I haven't had a chance to ride it, it's not near me and isn't my usual stomping grounds, but the word on the trail is that it's a sweet piece of trail and allows you to put together 35 miles or more between the two parks. Pretty cool.

Work day info can be found here.

Bike Jam  //   Wednesday - June 1, 2005

Saturday was the Baltimore Bike Jam. I had my own bike jam as I spent the morning riding trail with some of the Team Mom guys, swung home and swapped the dirt bike for the street machine and pedaled down to Patterson Park for the official Bike Jam. Bikes are fun, and they even had local beer at the event. Made the downpour during the pro race a little more bearable.
