Fixin' the Trail  //   Friday - September 2, 2005

Great ride Wednesday night, only 3 of us in the fast group but a bunch more on the moderate paced group. Trails were dry, weather was good and the bike was running solid. Messed with the bike a bit the other night, new BB to shift the chainline, moved the chainring from the outside to the inside of the crank and installed a new chain and stainless steel Surly chainring. Flipped the hub back to fixed and everything felt solid. Which is good news since we are heading out to Seven Springs, PA to hit up their 24 hour race this weekend. Super stoked that Julie will be heading up to be one of our pit crew. She's already been a huge help by handling the food situation for me which is über important: food is fuel. Ricky d and I are teamed up with Brad Q from Dirt Rag and his buddy Justin from Pittsburgh, should be a fun team. We'll be camped out with the rest of the DR crew that has a few other teams in the race too. Looks like we'll be arriving late, so no chance to pre-ride the course. Never been to the venue, but the map looks good. Weather looks to be real fine for the weekend, high 70's and low 50's for the extremes. Stellar.
