Verbage: OK, here's the scoop, we'll be working on the Patapsco Thru Trail on Sunday. Maybe you've heard of the infamous Tour de Patapsco, the route that links Avalon to McKeldin. Well, the park has been working to get this established as an actual, official route and they've been tweaking existing trail, rerouting old crappy trail and building new trail. We are going to head out and give a hand with some of this work. So, the work location will be closer to McKeldin than Avalon, directions below. Come check out some trail you may have never ridden before and ride your bike while you're at it.
Details from the chief organizer:
Sunday, November 25, 9:00AM - BOBbin’ on the Patapsco Thru Trail!
Bring your bike! I have lined up 4 BOB Trailers and need adventurous types to tow in tools for us. You will need a quick release on your rear wheel, bolt-on's need not apply.
The BOB's will enable us to work in many places at once. Bring your bike!
We’ll be rebenching in 9 areas along the Thru Trail near Woodstock Road.
Bring your bike! And any of your favorite shovels, loppers, mcleods, pulaskis, rakes, a good set of work gloves and water. Hiking in will be okay too, but it might be a long one.
Meet at Woodstock Road where it crosses the Patapsco River. From I-70 take Marriottsville Road North, right onto Old Frederick Road, Left onto Woodstock Road. Park in the lot at the railroad crossing. Sunday 11/25 9:00 AM. I’ll be there early with donuts. Bring your bike!

Verbage: Apologies for the gap in updates, last week my grandmother passed away and that's been taking up a good bit of my time added into an already hectic schedule. For those of you who did not know her she was one of the sweetest people you would ever meet and a tenacious fighter. I only hope I got a few of her qualities in my bloodline. She will be missed by a lot of people.
Right now, check out some pictures from Steve from our recent trail work at Gambrill. Bench cutting, crib walls and some major rock moving yielded a nice redesign on a piece of the blue trail that leads into the Frederick Watershed. Many thanks to everyone who came out.
There's a trail work day at Avalon (Patapsco) this Sunday, Nov. 25th. so come out and burn off some of that T-day poundage you know you are going to put on. I'll post up the meeting locations once it's been finalized. Stay tuned.
